Acer palmatum

‘Koto-no-ito’ is a finely textured, linearilobum selection of Acer palmatum ‘Koto-no-ito’ with a distinctly upright growth habit. Its leaves are deeply divided into long, narrow, string-like lobes that create a delicate, flowing appearance. The name ‘Koto-no-ito,’ meaning “harp strings” in Japanese, perfectly reflects the graceful, threadlike foliage of this striking cultivar.

Over time, this tree typically reaches about 14 feet in height. In early spring, the foliage emerges a vivid bright green, later transitioning to brilliant shades of orange and red in autumn.
